Comments included "Thank god,” and “I wasn’t keeping up with them.” Their joy is short-lived; internationally beloved, fueled by scandal and seemingly impervious to cancellation, the Kardashian-Jenner family will be returning to the big screen before winter’s end. It seems the wealthy family’s rabid fan-base and need to inhabit the spotlight are unmatched in intensity.

Mourners rallied on social media when Kim Kardashian made the announcement about 'KUWTK' ending: “I grew up with Keeping Up with the Kardashians. I have had it as the soundtrack of my life for the last 12 years. I remember illegally streaming my very first episode love them or hate them — this is the end of an era. #KeepingUpWithTheKardashians," one user wrote. Another commented, "THIS IS THE WORST NEWS EVER 'KUWTK' is the only show I watch." Heaven forbid our cultural imagination be deprived of the meaningful content peddled by the Kardashians. Self-appointed arbiters of taste akin to American royalty, the family’s stranglehold on pop culture persists.

According to The Sun, the Kardashians “immediately began plans for a new show” after the final episode of KUPWTK aired on June 20, 2021. Dependent on the cameras despite their extremely profitable online presences and multiple business ventures, the clan will be back on screen via Hulu as soon as possible. On a September episode of The Late Late Show, Kourtney told James Corden that Kris Jenner was “pushing to start filming ASAP,” and the matriarch confirmed from the audience. “I said, 'We have to start filming, it's an emergency!'” Kris recounted, “And they said, 'What's the emergency?' I said, 'I don't know, but I'll think of something.'"

In an interview with Ellen Degeneres last month, Kim said, “We are gonna start filming probably in the fall, and we’re going to have a quicker turnaround, so we hope to air in the fall as well.” This latest installment in the Kardashian’s reality TV repertorire will allegedly be “somewhat political,” focusing on Kim’s attempts to become a lawyer. An inside source told interviewers that the Hulu show is “an entirely different concept,” before clarifying that “it’s more chic” than the family’s original reality TV show.

The cast of the Hulu’s untitled Kardashian revival will reportedly feature less of the family than KUWTK, focusing mostly on “Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian...and the women's mother Kris Jenner.” Travis Barker, Kourtney’s latest beau and future baby daddy, is also rumored to appear on the show. Speaking on the upcoming show at the Disney Upfront presentations, Kris Jenner said, “The fans will love seeing us continue the journey. I can’t say much about what’s coming but spoiler, we’re going to look fabulous and everyone’s going to watch.”

Kim has also spoken on the demand for more Kardashian content, saying “In the new show, you’ll see us evolving as a family, fans want us to be who we are and since moment one, they’ve been emotionally invested in our show just like we are.” The truth is, the family that has it all craves even more. Khloe said it best to James Corden: “There’s nothing like getting paid to be together.”
