6 Mariah Carey Embarked On The 'Caution World Tour'
Speaking of the Caution album, Mariah embarked on the Caution World Tour to help propel the album to where it's at: debuted at number 5 on the Billboard 200 and sold over 51,000 album-equivalent units within the first week. The world tour consists of 35 dates in North America, Europe, the Caribbean, and the Middle East. Although there was one Italian date canceled, the rest of the dates were met with positive acclaim from the critics.
"When I did Caution, I love some of the songs from Caution, but I don’t think I was at the place vocally where I could be now. Also, it was rushed," she said about the album, claiming that the creative process of it was "rushed," while acknowledging that it's her most critically acclaimed record in the past few years.
5 She Celebrated The 30th Anniversary Of Her Debut Album
Last year, Mariah shared a series of cryptic messages for the 30th anniversary of her debut self-titled album. One of the projects she's released as a part of "#MC30" is her eighth compilation album, The Rarities, which contains several unreleased tracks and live performances.
"Basically, I found stuff in my vault that I had either started to work on a long time ago and never released or that I wanted to finish mixing or do whatever. But they're songs that have previously not been released," she told Good Morning America.

4 Mariah Carey Published Her Memoir
In conjunction with the 30th-anniversary milestone, Mariah also published her memoir, The Meaning of Mariah Carey, in September 2020. Written by Michaela Angela Davis, the book chronicles the ups and downs of her professional triumphs and struggles and her experience of growing up as a racially mixed woman in Long Islands, New York. Within the first week of its release, The Meaning of Mariah Carey topped the New York Times Best Seller list. She later sat down for many interviews to further promote the 368-page memoir.
"It took me a lifetime to have the courage and the clarity to write my memoir," she writes. "Though there have been countless stories about me throughout my career and very public personal life, it's been impossible to communicate the complexities and depth of my experience in any single magazine article or a ten-minute television interview."
3 She Starred In A Christmas Special
What's a Christmas celebration without the "Queen of Christmas" herself? In 2020, Apple TV signed Mariah Carey for her sophomore Christmas special, Mariah Carey's Magical Christmas Special. Directed by Hamish Hamilton, the Emmy Award-nominated special features a plethora of exciting guest stars like Snoop Dogg, Ariana Grande, and Jennifer Hudson.

"It was such a high point for me, career-wise, because of how much I love Christmas, and that’s partially because I’ve always loved it that much. But I’ve had to go through the obstacles of my difficult, to say the least, childhood and starting out in this business so young and not really ever having that unified family or those type of holidays that I always felt like you see on the TV," she reflected on her classic "All I Want For Christmas Is You" song during an interview with Billboard.
2 Mariah Carey's 'The Magic Continues' Was Released This Year
To celebrate the most festive time of the year, Mariah teamed up with singer Khalid for a new single, "Fall In Love At Christmas," alongside gospel singer Kirk Franklin earlier this November. The slow-paced R&B tune is later featured on Mariah's second Christmas special for Apple, The Magic Continues, which was released on December 3, 2021.
