Of course, we all know that humanity has a lot of problems. While the world is a complicated place, to say the very least, most of society’s problems stem from a single issue, people’s inability to empathize with what others go through. While that leads to a lot of awful things like prejudice and war, it also results in some small issues like regular people and celebrities misunderstanding one another.

Since some celebrities seem to think that they are better than so-called “normal” people, it makes sense that some stars treat their fans like crap. On the other hand, some people are so convinced that famous people have it made that they lack the ability to understand that many of them have their own issues. For example, a lot of stars struggle to stay fit and since they are in the often unforgiving public eye, that can result in some truly nasty coverage and comments.

Ever since Gwen Stefani first rose to fame, people have commented about the fact that she always seems to be in shape. Of course, part of the reason for that may be her genetics but it also shouldn’t be ignored that Stefani works hard to stay in shape. In fact, fans of Stefani may be extremely interested to learn about her thoughts on fitness and her workout routine.

Superstar Stefani

Throughout modern music history, there are far more examples of artists who became one-hit wonders than performers who’ve enjoyed long careers. With that in mind, it is all the more impressive that Gwen Stefani has had such an amazing and lengthy career. After first coming to prominence as the lead singer for No Doubt, it didn’t take long for fans to realize that Stefani was that band’s standout star. That turned out to be fortunate for Stefani as it allowed her to enjoy ongoing success when she began to release solo music.

In addition to all of the hit songs Gwen Stefani has released, in recent years she has earned even more fans due to her tenure as one of the stars of The Voice. Hired to be one of that show’s judges, Stefani’s years of success made her a perfect fit for that role and her lovable personality has made her a fan favorite.

Stefani’s Passion

During a 2011 Elle UK interview, Gwen Stefani was asked about her ambitions and work ethic. Amazingly enough, according to Stefani, she was “too naive to be ambitious” when she was a teenager. Of course, that certainly has changed in the years since as Stefani works extremely hard now. However, Stefani went on to claim that in her heart of hearts, she would prefer to take it easy. “Generally, I think of myself as really lazy. My ideal day would be to never get out of bed.” However, Stefani also made it clear that when she is passionate about something, she “can’t stop thinking about it”.

Even though Gwen Stefani is best known for her music, fans of hers will no doubt already be aware that she loves fashion. As it turns out, that passion plays a key role in Stefani staying so fit over the years as she explained in the aforementioned Elle Uk interview. “It’s a daily struggle. I work out five days a week, I can’t imagine not doing it. I’d like to have no rules and eat what I want, but I’ve learned over the years that I’m so disappointed when I can’t wear the clothes I want to wear. And if I let myself down, appear on stage when I’m not looking my best, it’s not fun for me. I just beat myself up about it.”

Stefani’s Workouts

Unsurprisingly, Gwen Stefani doesn’t make it a habit to list the exact details of her workout routines. However, during a 2007 Elle Canada interview, Stefani outlined the kind of exercises she prefers. “There aren’t any tricks. It’s simple math: you put this much food in, you burn that much working out. I worked out with my trainer five days a week, with weekends off. I would really recommend doing weights. I’m not into yoga or pilates — they don’t work for me, and I don’t have the patience. I’m more like a man: I like going to the gym and lifting weights or doing a little boxing.”

For Gwen Stefani fans who are more interested in the exact details of her workouts, the best source has been interviews with her trainers. Fortunately, her current trainer Gunnar Peterson, who has also worked with Rebel Wilson, and her former trainer Mike Heatlie have both given a pretty good picture of her workout regime. While there isn’t enough room to go through it all here, it is possible to touch on the basics. For example, it is known that Stefani likes to work with dumbbells a lot and she does 3 sets of 15 reps of many of those exercises. Stefani also uses medicine balls a lot, focuses on cardio, and trains in boxing.
